Rumi Quote of the Week: July 20, 2020
“I entered this world as an innocent loving child. The first part of my life was full of questions, always asking “Why?” The answers to those questions are the “thousand entrapments” - answers I heard in the beginning from my family, then from my peers and my teachers, then from society, and always from the conclusions I drew from my experiences. Then one day when I was torn between two choices and nothing I had learned seemed to fit the situation, I struggled to answer my own question but the automatic answers I had accumulated didn’t feel “right” somehow. The question became “What is keeping me from finding an answer?” and that’s when I began the journey of meeting my authentic self. You are one of the teachers who helped me keep that door open to my authentic self - the one true voice.
In these troubled days when I feel my heart breaking open, it spurs me to look for the answer to “What can I do?” and listen even as the tears are falling for the authentic answer.
